Types of Motion Detection Sensors

Image
1.) Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensors : Detect  heat signatures from humans or animals and respond to changes in infrared energy. Commonly used for automatic lighting and  security alarms . Work well indoors and are energy-efficient. 2.) Ultrasonic Sensors : Emit ultrasonic waves and detect motion by analyzing the frequency shift caused by  moving objects . Sensitive to even minor movements but can be prone to false alarms. 3.) Microwave Sensors : Use microwave signals to  detect motion  based on Doppler shifts. Have a wider range than PIR  sensors  but may detect movement through walls, leading to unintended activations. 4.) Dual Technology Sensors : Combine PIR and microwave or ultrasonic technologies to reduce false alarms by cross-verifying  motion detection .     Source Link :  https://medium.com/@digitalmarkters02/types-of-motion-detection-sensors-732928d3a4dc
